Foreign Releases

Only a small number of lines ever get the distinction of having started in America, yet finished on Foreign shores only. And in the days before the Internet these lines were rarely known about domesticaly. But the buzz surrounding the decision to send the remainder of the Superman: The Animated Series line overseas was so great that US distributors picked them up. Wave Three stayed hard to find for years but was eventually released to KB Toys in the US during 2002.

But even though Wave Three made it to the US eventually, there are a few items that will probably only be foreign sold. These have already shown up in the US in different guises, but it's interesting to see these rare additions to the line.

At this time, only these two two-packs are known to have been released internationally. The first one is Capture Net Superman and Darkseid. Superman is the same as the single pack (possibly a slightly deeper blue), but Darkseid has green pants instead of purple ones. The second one is Neutron Star Superman and Braniac. In this pack it's the Superman that's the variation: light blue paint instead of grey paint.

This Metropolis Bank set is the same as the Gotham Bank being currently released in America as part of the Batman line. Interestingly enough, it started out as part of the ill-fated Superman: Man of Steel line that died before it could be released. It comes with a repainted Camo City Superman without the weird armor.
