SUPERMAN GLIDER

Another cool vehicle that went through a few changes is the Superman Glider. Although Kenner had dropped Superman's "fist motif" for their version of the Supermobile, they decided to bring it back in a big way for this awesome glider. The first version, shown below, was a jet plane designed for Superman to sit in the cockpit, and would have been a much larger toy with mobile arms. The final version, that made it to initial engineering blueprints shown directly below, would have had Superman clip onto the bottom in a flying pose. It's possible that Kenner may have designed this version with kids in mind, making it fairly solid and able to be thrown like a real glider.

They also added extra action features, in addition to the trapping fists of the first one. Too bad this puppy didn't make it off the drawing board!
