PLASTIC MAN'S CAR

A real departure for the design team, this is the closest to a "real world" vehicle that they ended up designing. Plastic Man didn't really need a Formula One car, but what a fun toy for the kids! Plus, any extension of the Plastic Man brand is always to be applauded. I don't think DC has a more severely underused property, the new Kyle Baker comic notwithstanding. This might have been loosely based on the Ruby-Spears "Plastic Man Comedy Adventure Show" airing on saturday mornings at the time. One the show, Plas would often turn into a plane or a car, so the kiddies would be familiar with him in this form. At least Kenner didn't have plans for "Baby Plas"...*shudder*.

And that's it for the vehicles! An odd assortment of concepts, to be sure. I guess outside of the myriad BatVehicles in the DC Universe, it just doesn't make much sense for super heroes to own cars. Outside of the Titans Jet, that is, which is conspicuously missing.
