This is a very rough early prototype of Kalibak's vehicle.
Kalibak himself went through a metamorphosis between the
initial hardcopy and his final production
figure.
These pictures shown the immense amount of planning and
testing that went into each design for going into full
production. It also shows why we're still finding unproduced
pieces after all these years. It's a shame that Kenner
did not feel the need to catalog or save these items,
as countless untold prototypes for Super Powers, Star
Wars, and other lines are probably lost forever. Only
the odd pieces saved by the designers themselves have
shown up. Most of what you're seeing in these presentations
are pictures of the items taken by Kenner at the time
for internal use, not the items themselves, which most
likely no longer exist.
