FIRESTORM
The Nuclear Man

ORIGIN

Protesting nuclear tests at a nearby power plant, high school jock Ronnie Raymond was caught in a blast caused by sabotage. Bumping into Professor Martin Stein at the time of the blast, Raymond and Stein fused into one being, Firestorm, the nuclear man. Firestorm can alter the molecular composition of any non-living item. His body is controlled by Raymond, but Stein can hear and see everything. The two men can separate when their battle against evil is through for the day.

FIGURE STATS

Firestorm has neat-o firelike "hair" and puffy sleeves as befits a character designed in the late 70's. He can let loose a power action Atomic Punch when his legs are conveniently squeezed together.

COMMENTS

Cool, cool, cool. Kenner really went out on a limb by making this one over some better known characters. Firestorm has never been extremely popular but he does cut a nice figure. While DC Direct keeps hinting at a future figure, this remains the only time Firestorm has appeared in plastic (I'm purposely not counting that "Pocket Heroes" monstrocity).
