Colombian Super Powers

In the mid 1990s these new Super Powers knock-off figures showed up in South America.
Unlike the Argentinean Super Amigos, however, these figures kept the Super Powers name, but are recognizably poor quality in both the plastic used in production and the paint and choice of color.

Produced by Gulliver Juguetes of Bogota, Columbia, this line includes a poster of each character and both Spanish and English lettering, even though the package art and design doesn't quite match the US Super Powers line.

These are easily distinguished from Super Powers by the lack of knee joints, and the cheap plastic and lack of paint detail. They each come with a mini-poster that matches the card illustration. The capes are also cheap vinyl instead of cloth.

Pictured on the cardback are Superman, batman, Robin, Green Lantern, The Flash, aquaman, and Wonder Woman. Supposedly, like the Super Amigos line an exclusive figure was released with the others. He is Captain Ray. I've never heard of him, either. Go check him out and have a good laugh.

Here is the only site focusing on Colombian Super Powers. It swipes liberally from my archive, but still has decent info.

Don't be fooled; Knowledge is the collectors' best weapon.
